Free up Conventional Memory:
Find and or run your sysedit.
Use DeviceHigh in your Config.sys
like so.

DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS /TESTMEM:OFF
DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.exe RAM
DOS=HIGH,UMB
DEVICEHIGH=C:\ATAPI_CD.SYS /D:MSCD000 /I:0
FILESHIGH=100
BUFFERSHIGH=30
Stacks=9,256

If your hard drive is not compressed.
To will free up a huge chunk of Conventional memory. . Note: This works only on Uncompressed Drives and you should always make a back up MSDOS.SYS before editing it.

First, find the hidden file MSDOS.SYS in the root directory and edit the properties.
Take OFF Read-Only and put ON Archive, Hit OK. Now edit MSDOS.SYS through NotePad and add the following lines right under options:
(I use a MSDOSSYS.Batch file MSDOSSYS.BAT.)

[options]
drvspace=0
dblspace=0
BootWarn=0

After you have completed this, save the MSDOS.SYS file and edit properties. Put back ON Read-Only and turn OFF Archive, hit OK, and reboot the computer.
Or use a power tool (I use Nuts&Bolts EZ Setup System uncheck always load drivespace&doublespace
drivers.)
