Norton Antivirus Uninstall Messed Up

Comment:
I stupidly forgot to shut-off auto-protect before I tried to uninstall Norton Antivirus 2001, and it froze during uninstall, I restarted and tried to uninstall again but it said it couldn't find the uninst.isu file and uninstalliation is aborted. Now whenever I start up, after the startup screen it goes to a dos screen saying it can't find this file, press any key to continue, and when I'm in windows, another dos screen comes up saying it can't find this other file, press any key to continue, and then a window comes up saying norton antivirus could not be started. The system tray icon is still there, but with a red x over it. How do I clean this mess up?

hehe....sucks when that happens eh?
go into the directory where norton was installed to...i think the default is in the c:\program files. delete the norton directory and reinstall norton. in theory, it should install all the right files and you wont get the message that there's files missing

Hi Lee, Lucas and Pucho!
Lucas and Pucho are right. Need to re-install to load the un-install, then you can re-un-install! Sorry, probably not to funny on your end!
If you need more help post back as I shall monitor this post.
Good Day! Mesich
