I have been using Norton 5.0 on my old Windows 95b PC. When I use intelligent updater, it says this program is not compatible with this version(5.0), upgrade to a newer version. However, I have found a way to make the definitions update, but am I having a false sense of security since 5.0 is using an old detection engine with new virus definitions? They do mention Intelligent Updater version 2...would this be a better choice? In other words, am I protected by still using the old 5.0 version but updating the definitons indirectly? Should I just use/get a later version?

Dunno but can I take it that you are aware of AVAST and AVG which are good freebies?

Derek,
I am aware of the free virus programs...I was just hoping to hold onto Norton since I;m more familiar with it. Thanks.
