No Sound Recording, Only Playback

I have a 450 meg, Win95 system with a new Asound Express PCI Sound Card. The playback of sound is fine. However, can not use sound recorder to record sound. Funny thing is if I tap on the mic, I can hear the sound come out of the speakers. However, it will not create a wav file recording. All the ASOUND drivers appear to be working ok according to Driver Mgr. Any ideas?

In your Control Panel, go to Multimedia and make sure your soundcard is selected in the recording/Preferred Device.
