I have no computer speakers. What i did was hook-up my stereo.to the line out jack on my sound blaster pci128 card(it was the only one that got me any sound). well i cant get sound from my right speaker. Ok it might be a pain but can anyone help me trouble shoot this. am i not doing somthing simple? or can it not be done. I have it hooked to the aux/video chanel of my stereo. i have tryed to switch the red/whits jacks but no luck o ya i used a y-adapter kind like a headset jack on one end and a red/white speeker jacks on the other. I am running win 98 on a pII 400any help would be great

What you want to do can be done and you have done it correctly. Make sure all the cables are connected tightly. Play music or something through your computer so you have constant sound coming out and wiggle all the connectors to see if you have a bad connection. Also make sure you are using a stereo cable coming from your sound card. If that still doesn't work try pluging in something else as a source like a walkman or portable cd player. If it still only comes out of 1 channel you may have a bad patchcord.

This may sound silly, but are you sure the Y-adapter is a stereo one, rather than single channel Y ? The plug at the sound card end must have both the tip and an extra ring plus the sleeve connection for common ground.
