I am running Windows 98. And about a month or 2 ago I started getting this annoying no operating system found message when booting up. If I restart I don't get this problem. When the system crashes or gets shut down for any reason, I do. Now it usually takes me about 20 minutes of re-trying over and over and I usually end up booting it into safe mode...then restarting and I am fine. Anyone know of what I can do to stop this annoying nightmare?

Thanks

run diagnostics on your drive, & replace your drive IDE cable. this is an indication of a failing drive or cable.

Your hard disk is dying or you have a virus. Run scandisk. if you see bad sectors then buy a new hard disk.
