Greetings:
I have ecountered a weird problem with a system that has been working fine for almost two years.
When I power up the PC, there is no signal to the monitor.
The fans start, as do the drives and the motherboard light is on. Also, the motherboard sounds the single short beep indicating no hardware problem.
But there is no signal, not even the icon, an image of a broken cord, that indicates a signal is not present, and I believe that is generated by the monitor.
I know what you are thinking, but, no, the monitor works just fine on another PC, and replacing the video card with another has no effect.
The only thing I can think of is the AGP chip on the motherboard has failed.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.
Ed

If you have both an on-board video connection and an add-on video card try connecting the monitor to the other video output.

Hello Elf,
More simply, this problem occurs when some specific's drivers are not reconized for any reason, if you have your CDrom from the LCD monitor, you can reinstall drivers...easily...
