I have a Windows 95 laptop that we just installed a new network card on and found drivers for it (after trying 3 cards). However, we run the config and the IP address is 0.0.0.0. Does anybody know what the heck this means, and if we can get an IP address for it? We need to give it access to the network.

ooh haven't used Win95 for a long time.
Go to TCP/IP properties and set your laptop to have an IP of 192.168.0.2 with subnet mask 255.255.255.0
other PCs connected to this laptop should have IP of 192.168.0.x where x is between 3 and 253 no 2 IPs should be the same on the same network. and give them all the same subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

The company supplying your internet should've given you an IP address. It would seem unwise to me to make them up. IP addresses work as signatures in most sites. If one seems fishy to a site, they won't let you view their site. I would talk to your internet supplier about it because it is basically a peice of identification for your computer.
