AMD 600mhz
TNT2 32mb vid card
256 mb ram
win98 se

Every time a game is started on this machine it goes to a black screen and
hangs. No ctrl+alt+del or nowt will get out of it, only a hard shutdown.
Also running dxdiag from the run prompt will not open anything at all. So
direct x was reinstalled, vid card drivers reinstalled and still same? Did
just fit a sound card recently but couldnt see that being a problem?

cheers

My first things to do on an issue like this is updating the video card and sound card drivers. Also make your downloading the updated drivers and not just resinstalling old ones.
