About a week ago my computer, upon booting, began displaying this error:

MWave Virtual Device Driver Error
MWave Error: VxD005
No DSP board found in system

I have an Acer Aspire. I did not change anything--I have no idea what prompted this problem. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software for the modem ... to no avail. I installed a different modem ... to no avail. How do I resolve this?

Thanks much!

If you are having MWave problems, my advise is to rip it out of your machine and replace it with a 56K Fax/Modem and a SB64.
MWave cards are not made any more (for a good reason), and you'd be lucky (or unlucky) to find a replacement.

Go on, take the plunge and replace the MWave.
