try to remove it and put the old one in. If that works, then get a professional to put in the 64mb card.

You don't sat what's happing (or not happening) with the rest of your PC's components, so I'll assume they are all showing the proper signs of life when you power up, and it's just the video that appears to be dead. I'd therefor suggest that something is wrong with (a) the cable between the video card and the monitor (not plugged in all the way at one end or the other?) or (b) your video card (not properly seated in its slot, or if its AGP then its setup wrong in BIOS, or maybe it's just plain dead.)

Unless you've tried a different monitor or video card, how can you be sure all the other hardware is OK?

Nothing showing on the screen can be due to a lot of things that don't involve the card or monitor.

Is the ATI Radeon 7500 64 mb of Video card new? If so, before calling it defective, re-evaluate all your steps thoroughly and methodically. Most common cause for a First Bootup problem in the case of occasional computer assemblers, is a missed step, often from fatigue or distraction!

I understand you are not getting any Display on the monitor screen during the bootup.

I assume you have already installed the RIGHT RAMs properly and securely in their slots.

Have you connected your FDD, HDD and CDDs?

Do you see the Keyboard LED and is the KBD functioning? Is the Mouse functioning?

If both are Negative, do you see the CPU fan spinning?

During Bootup do you hear the normal single Beep or any abnormal BIOS Beeps?

If Beeps are abnormal can you describe/depict their cadence?

Did you try to clearthe CMOS Battery using the Jumper?

Simple check: if your computer acts like its actually booting up (appropriate hard drive activity etc) and you get one short beep, but you also get nothing on the monitor (as you previously described) then the problem is the PC is not putting out a video signal to the monitor. If that is the case, reread my post above. If no hard drive activity, and no beep (or more than one beep)you have other problems with cpu and/or motherboard.

Yeah i have connected the Fdd and Hdd etc.
And Under the optical mouse i see the red light on. Also i see the heat sink fan spinning. During Bootup I hear the normal single Beep.
And i do have the righ ram in it. i have the pc3200 400 mhz ddr. All this Computer Hardware are brand new.
I havent tryed to clear that CMOS Battery using the Jumper. Is it easy to do?
I forgot one thing. i do see the keyboard led were it says numlock, caps lock and scroll lock. they come on but they go off really quick.
Ps And i see hard drive activity.

That all sounds normal. Put a bootdisk in the floppy drive and restart the computer. Does the floppy light come on and stay on, idicating it's booting from the drive (if a: is the first boot device in cmos)?

As Maadhuri suggests, it'd probably be a good idea to clear the cmos via motherboard jumper.

In the ASUS A7N8X Motherboard find the coin-shaped CMOS battery just below the 3rd PCI slot. . Just below that battery stands the CMOS Jumper. . Verify it with your Mobo manual.

In the default CMOS Reset Jumper position, the plastic jumper block straddles Pins 1&2.

After disconnecting the Motherboard Power Connector, remove the jumper blockfrom its default pins and place it over Pins 2&3 for 10 Seconds and then replace it over the default CMOS Pins. Then reconnect motherboard PSU connector.
Make sure all the cables and cards inside the case are in their respective positions in a firm & secure manner [easily disturbed during our manipulations and go unnoticed!] before inserting all external cables and Restarting the PC to test the troubleshoot.

For the THIRD time -- if all is as you say it is during bootup, you have a VIDEO problem. You don't have CMOS problem, you don't have a memory problem! Only thing I'd do is reset the BIOS to Default values, and if it still doesn't work, replace the video card. If that doesn't work, 99% probability your MB had a faulty video circuit.

We know for sure the ATI Radeon 7500 64 mb of Video card is not defective.

Did you try connecting the ATI Radeon 7500 64 mb of Video card in the ASUS A7N8X Motherboard and connecting it to this Gateway Monotor?

Before uninstalling the ATI Radeon 7500 64 mb Video card from the 'Working Computer try to swap the Monitors between the New PC and the 'working computer'. If it still works we can isolate the problem to an incompatibility betwen the ATI Radeon 7500 64 mb Video card and the ASUS A7N8X Motherboard. If another Brand of Video card will work in the ASUS A7N8X Motherboard in the same slot [I don't know if this is a PCI or AGP card] we can say that Motherboard itself is basically OK but incompatible with that type of ATI Radeon card!

You "forgot" to tell us that little, obviously unimportant detail about the system working OK with another monitor? Anything else, like you forgot to plug it in the wall socket?

Ok When I put the ATI Radeon 7500 64 mb Video card in my asus a7n8x board and hooking it up to the gateway monitor when i turn it on it comes with the self testing thing. and after that nothing it goes black.
Bue when i put the 7500 into the gateway mobo. it works fine so i dont know whats wrong still. 7500 radeon is a pci card.

Can you explain what you meant by the "self testing thing"? Was that an On-screen display?

Did your monitor screen show the BIOS messages such as name and version of BIOS, the Memory count, the initialization of the hardware such as HDD, CD-ROM and FDD and then the message .."starting Windows..." before identifying the "new Monitor"? OR was it a Blank screen from the time the Power was turned On both in the PC and the Gateway Monitor?

Did you try the other Monitor on Gateway PC with the same Videocard? If so the result?

Your problem is the exact problem I had..(No monitor,no mouse, keyboard lights up for second, one beep..etc...Everything you mentioned is the same..I changed out the mobo and that solved my problem...as long as your voltages are there, I say it's the mobo...
