No Dial tone in my modem

I have an AMD K6/2-450,128mbRam, 56k Conexant HCF v.90 Int. Modem, Win98SE. This modem cannot connect to the Internet but it¡¦s works when I plug it to another computer which P-200mmx, 64mdRam,Win98 First Edition. I had tried to configure the IRQ & those commend setting, but still not working, it¡¦s an error showing that ¡§Error608- There is no dial tone, ¡K¡K

Hi, what I would suggest first is to reinstall the drivers for your modem.
