Whenever I try to open a page on IE for the first time, I get the following message.

"No connection to the internet is currently available. To view internet content that has been saved on your computer, click Work Offline.
Click Try Again to atempt to connect."

2. And when I click Try Again, the page opens.

3. I have broadband internet that works alright on firefox.

4.What should I do??

xetcetc, Open Internet Explorer, click on "File" and make sure that "Work Offline" is unchecked.

It is unchecked. In fact, if I check the Work Offline link it remains checked only as long as IE is open. If I close IE and open again, the check is gone. Is that normal??

xetcetc, Did you by chance make one or some of your Favorites avaiable to view offline? You could check by right clicking a Favorite and see if any are checkmarked "Make available offline". Try it with the sites where you're having the problem. You may also want to Open Internet Explorer/Tools/Internet Options/General tab, click the Delete Files button and when the popup window appears checkmark "Delete all offline content", click OK.

I have just one Favourite marked so far. Deleted all offline files but the message continues.
