Hey guys my computer has the same problem but i can't find the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/Class entry
can anyone give me tips on how to fix this problem?

I believe that particular key location is for XP. For 98 (and maybe 95) go here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321122
and click down to 'microsoft windows 2000 or microsoft windows 98' for that particular fix.
However, try right clicking on MY COMPUTER, go down to PROPERTIES and click on 'PERFORMANCE'. Does it show the cdrom in msdos compatibility mode? If so, that's a different fix.
