I was given a OLD compaq contura 400cx laptop. It doesn't have a cd drive just a floppy. It also has only the main aspects of windows 95. I need microsoft works spreadsheet for the project I am working on. I have to portable cd burners (players) that hook to my home computer but they are USB and my notebook is not. I am at whits end. How do I get a 95' program that will come in floppy. I can't hook my laptop up to my internet connection at home because I am not on a phone line with it. I also also have to cd drives that are for internal use but can they be used to connect to this laptop just to put the program on by disk? And the drives I have are an AFREEY Model cd-1845 E/A and a LITE-ON IT CORP. model # S04C=523K they are old and I am not sure whether they are USB or other. Please help
There were external cdroms that attached to the parallel port. Or maybe a PCMCIA card to which you could attach a cdrom. But for whatever it would cost to find those antiques you could probably get an old P-I laptop on ebay.
I think you can get Works 4.0 on floppy disk but I don't know if that version would be able to do what you need done.
