CPU/Ram: pent. II 128mb

Hello,
I just received this free dell laptop cpid266xt and the only message I get when I turn it on is no boot sector. I have no software to go with this and I would like to know were can I find a new boot sector file and can I save it to a disk and restart the dell to get pass this problem?
please help,

Its the hard drive working? Is it been accessed?

If it has a floppy drive, boot from a win9X startup floppy and type:
sys c:
Remove the floppy and try another boot.
