I removed the newdot file from my computer. I understand it is useless. However, I cannot access the internet. What could still be the hangup?
Thanks,

check out this site... this new.net is a hassle if you are trying to conenct to the internet... from my understanding it modifies the windows winsock files (vital to using any connection to the internet)
As a side note I worked at a broadband help desk for a while and we experienced this problem a lot...
check out this site:
http://www.cexx.org/newnet.htm for details

If this doesn't work, there area few things you can try to uninstall TCP/IP, reboot, reinstall TCP/IP, reboot (you might need someone's help with this)... hope this helps!

Also check out newnet.com as there is (buried somwehere) their solution to uninstalling this program..
