Does anyone know how to add a Wordpad (*.wri)Document to the 'New' List, when you right click on an Empty Desktop or in an Open Folder.

If you have TweakUI, go to the NEW tab and tick the box for Wordpad Document.

G'day Allen, go into the Registry at this location;

Hkey_Classes_Root
.+ .wri

and add this subkey ShellNew and create a new string named NullFile [no value] and that should do it. Of course the .wri file-type must be registered for this to work. You can add/remove this to any extension you like. It should now look like this;

Hkey_Classes_Root
.+ .wri
..+ ShellNew | NullFile ""
