Mesich? Did you or anyone ever figure out how to get it (the scrsvr.exe) from coming back? I had read an old post days back, but lost that post and haven't seen an update.

If your PC was infected with the virus, you must clean all the entry in the Regestry.

Download the appropiate tool in this Link:

http://www.pandasoftware.com/

It must Repair your System Totally.

Hi All,

Yes Dave that is a very long thread.

Here is what I have found works for most.

Run the fix located HERE

Perform the steps in response #25 HERE

Create a junk file as described by Dave357.
"After going thru the recommended procedures & deleting scrsvr.exe, several people have created (using notepad) a junk file named scrsvr.txt, renamed it scrsvr.exe, & inserted it into the C:\Windows folder"

That has worked for most as a work around until a better fix is made.

Couple of other things if the above still does not work.

Disable port 139. See response #58 HERE

Modify the sharing of the C: drives in all PCs for free read-only access but a four-letter password protection for full access.
See response #59 HERE

Hope this makes it a little easier getting through the longer post.

I shall post something that is a little easier to follow for future reference on my site later today.

HTH

Good Day All!
Mesich
