My daughter got a new Hewlet Packard 960 printer. She has a 3 yr old IBM computer. When she tried to install the new printer it tells her to install the disk and when she does it says it cant find the disk. Can anyone help her.WE don't know much about computers.

It's looking for the driver of course. The window should show where it's looking. If it's not looking in the correct place, just click the browse button and then browse to the CD and/or folder where the driver is located.

Elaine, If you only have one CD drive in your pc, it should be the D: drive. In the prompt where it says that it cannot find the CD, click the Browse button and use the down arrow to point to the D: drive where you have the CD inserted. If this is not the info you need, give us more specific info about the prompts you are getting, and what they say.

From memory I think it defaults to drive A, which I understand could be confusing. The newer HP drivers/software seem to take much longer to intall than the old type & not always to textbook - I did 7 machines for one shared HP printer in our office recently -all the same - but ended up having to re-install a couple to get them working. On a dedicated printer you shouldn't have too much trouble though Elaine. Rgds Dennis
