Hi,

A year ago I read that there is a new method to format your harddisk. It makes your computer much faster.
Is this true? I never heard about is any more.

Thanks,

Ron

The only New Fdisk/Format is the New one to over come hard disk's larger than 32GB. Mircosoft has a patch you can download. It is not any faster.

Perhaps you are thinking of 'Defrag"? It is reported that Windows ME defrag is faster and it good also for Win 98

The Win ME defragger is MUCH faster and less finicky than the Win 95, 98, or 98SE defraggger, and it works on all of them right back to the original version of 95.

It can be dowloaded from

There are instruction for making the change over and that is very easy since it's a droppin for the old one.
