Comment: I have an nt4 network with 14 win98 clients. I cannot share the printer as it says it loses communication. I have disabled bidirectional communication but still no luck please help me with a solution.

Reply: (edit)Whats the Printer networked to the NT or a 98 Client ? Is it set for point and print ? Do you have specific nt4 drivers ? Have you set security and NTFS perrmissions for the printer ? Which flavor NT do you have workstation , Server or enterprise server ?

Reply: (edit)I tried to put the 710C in two different networks, one with win95 and the other with win98, but I had the same problem as you.It looks like we have a driver problem but,hp have not made any driver update. Just for your information I managed to put 690C an 540 without any problem on those networks.

Reply: (edit)Well, I had it runnig once and it worked fine now i am again searching for the how to because of a hd crash but it is possible for sure and i was running the 10.3 driver from the org. cd. The problem is that you must turn of bidirectional support and i think ink inq. but with the 10.3 version there is one more thing what needs to be changed. i'm stil searching because i had it working. cya
