A few days ago I changed from Dial up modem to cable.I made changes as I was told.Internet works ok,but when I reboot a window comes up that says-Enter Network Password-Enter your network password for Microsoft Networking - user name - password - How do I stop this? Also when WIN98 loads it opens to C:\Netscape.Thanks if you can HELP. Bill
Right-click on Network Neighborhood and go to "properties".
There should be a drop-down menu that says "Primary Network logon"
"Client for microsoft networks" will be selected. You have to choose "Windows Logon". Hit OK. After you reboot it should be gone.

Go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Network. In the window that appears, Under "Primary Network Logon" there will be a drop down list. It will be set to "Client for Microsoft Networks" (or something like that) change it to "Windows Logon" Click on the 'Ok' button and then you will be prompted to reboot. When Windows restarts you should go right to the Windows desktop without seeing a username/password prompt.
