Hello! I was installing a router for someone who has DSL internet service. At one point the instructions indicated to bring up your browser (without being signed into the net) and type http://192.186.1.1 and pressing the Enter key. Next an "Enter Network Password" screen appeared. The instructions indicated to leave the name blank and use "admin" for the password. After entering the password and advancing, you get to the Cable/DSL Router config screens. After going in and out of the config screens a couple of times, I decided to check off the "save your password" box on the "Enter Network Password" screen, figuring it would save time. Here's where the problem began. Now when I enter http://192.186.1.1 on the web browser and press Enter I get an invalid page screen and can not get into the Router config screens. How can I delete the "saved" Network password or even locate it? Also, this is not the boot up network screen I'm referring to, but when using your browser to install/configure a router. Any help would really be appreciated! Thanks!

Best bet is to call the router manufacturers tech support. If you initially set up the router as they instructed, you should be able to connect to the net. The modem will pick up the ip address automatically. Remeber to go into Internet Options in the Control Panel and set up your internet connection. Good Luck.

This sounds like a linksys, there should be a little hole in the from of the router, take a pen or pencil, paper clip whatever fits and stick it in the hole and hold it in for 10 seconds, that should reset the router!

I made one mistake in my note above... the address for the browser, while off line, is http://192.168.1.1 My main problem isn't with the actual router (made by Network Everywhere). It's with trying to bring up the "Enter Network Password" screen again. I checked off "save password" and now the "Enter Network Password" screen does not come up. How can I get the "save password" field to be unchecked or possibly delete the actual password? I need to get the "Enter Network Password" screen to pop up again, while in the browser, so I can manually enter the password, then that will permit me to enter into the Router config screens. I'll have my friend try the paper clip thing, but I still need to get into the Router config set up.
We contacted the router manufacturer, but they couldn't help us with this problem since it wasn't a problem with the actual router. I checked off the "save password" in the "Enter Network Password" screen. The instructions did not indicate to do this. I just figured it would save time going in later. Kind of like saving your password when signing into the internet. Normally, saving your password does not cause problems entering an application or site at a later point. For the Router config, apparently it does.
By the way, thanks for the quick replies!
