Hello, Does anyone know how to show a network icon in win98? I just added a network card and hooked up this computer to my network for DSL internet and would like to see a network connection in the task bar. Thanks, J.

Are you saying that you have a working network and no icon? How about a network listing in control panel? Do you have one there? I seems like you aren't part of a network currently.

Well, let me say this. I hooked up my XP machine to DSL thru a router. The XP computer has an lan icon in the tray. I then installed a D-link ethernet card in the win98 machine and hooked the cat5 cable to the same modem (4 port) as the XP machine. The win98 machine doesn't have a icon showing a connection. Both have internet access. Now all I have to do is figure out how to share between the two (wrong board for that question). Thanks, J.

I'm not sure I understand you correctly. If you want an icon for a remote computer, open MS Explorer/Network, drag and drop the desired computer (or resorce) to the QuickLaunch tray.
