Hey guys, I just posted a message here a few days back regarding Outlook Express. Well everything went well, I killed the program, but while I'm here, I might as well throw this dilemma at you. Whenever I compose or reply to a mail message using My Netscape
Browser's mail and newsgroups function, something weird happens. My typing gets real chinky like. It's like the computer can't keep up with my typing speed. I type fast, but the characters are placed on the screen at a slower speed, and it's definitely noticeable. It's kind of annoying and it only happens when I use Netscape's mail program. It doesn't happen with any other program but that one. I've tried going into the control panel and adjusting my keyboard settings to try to get it to pick up the pace, but that didn't work. Can anyone help me? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I really don't want to part with Netscape. I like it too much. The program version that I'm running is Netscape 7.2

What happens when you type your message in another program (text editor), such as Notepad or Word, and then copy/paste that into Netscape?
Netscape 7.2 was just recently released. Were you using Netscape 7.1 or 7.0 before? Or possibly one of the other gecko clients for e-mail (Mozilla/Thunderbird, etc.)? I'm just wondering whether or not this is a new bug? I use Netscape 7.0's e-mail clint on Linux and have never had the problem you speak of.
You may also want to try going offline when you type your message - click the cable connection icon. It's on the bottom right-hand area of the e-mail client (it's the only graphic down there). Then, click the graphic again to go online to send your message.
Good luck.

Well, when I type my message in another text editor and then copy/paste it into Netscape, everything works fine. I did upgrade from Netscape 6.0 which previously upgraded Netscape communicator 4.8. I didn't have any problems with those versions. Could it be a Windows thing? Maybe it's time I switched over to Linux. Those Mandrake distros look pretty inviting, and I hate Microsoft's security issues. I did try going offline, but the problem was the same. If anybody has anymore suggestions, I would sure appreciate it. Maybe I should go back to an older version of Netscape, but on the other hand, I really love this newer release. What should I do?

Do you have the spell checker turned on? This MAY be checking all of your spelling as you type it, which I suppose could be slowing your typing to a crawl. Just a thought.
You may want to do just as you did, typing in a separate text editor, and then cutting/pasting into Netscape, but you might also try using an earlier version of Netscape 7 (Beware of this, though, as downgrading may cause problems with your settings and/or data). You might try Thunderbird instead. It's a stand-alone version of the e-mail client that's used in Netscape.
As far as going to Linux, I'd recommend dual booting (or installing on another system) to get used to Linux before completely switching over. Mandrake is a good choice for newbies.
Good luck.

My "ISP" system is no longer supporting Netscape . Granted I like using it more than my using Internet Explorer .
See if your IP is still supporting the use of Netscape on the system ?

Well, the spell checker was turned off, so I guess that wasn't the problem. I really like the sound of using Thunderbird and I think I'll give that a try. I think I'll also try downgrading my version of Netscape to version 7.1 or 7.0. As for Linux, It's looking pretty good. I recently downloaded a distribution known as Xandros. I guess the people who created that distribution also created Corel Linux, a distro that seemed really cool to me. Anyways, I'm giving that a try. I'll definitely keep you guys posted. These suggestions are really good. I'll take all the advice I can get on this one, so if anyone out there has any more suggestions, please keep em comming.
