ofcourse.. XP is NT based :) Messenger (net send) should work fine... try (Control panel, Administrative tools, Services, then right click on 'messenger' and choose properties. Then choose the automatic startup thing.)

I cannot get Net Send to work with Win 98 computers, whether they're running WinPopUp or not.
Does it have to do with the computer names? Here they all have spaces in the names.

The NET SEND facility only works in NT/2000/XP but you can still use the WINPOPUP program to send instant messages in a similar manner.
You can use WINPOPUP to send messages from 95/98 to NT/2000/XP machines too. However I don't know how to send messages the other way. Anybody got any idea?
