Hi, i've just installed nero 6 and everytime i run it it recreates a folder on the start menu with all the shortcuts to its various bits and pieces. I intensly dislike having this on my start menu and drag it to the appropriate folder but it still comes back. The behavior has also been noticed on a machine running XP.
2 questions:
Why it is doing this?
How can i stop it?Cheers

Do you mean that you want these shortcuts within a folder on your start menu instead?
Whatever, you can always use cut/paste from C:\windows\Start Menu in Windows Explorer.

What i mean is i move these shortcuts to a different part of the start menu (i.e. under applications) - no problem there, but when i run nero it recreates the shortcuts back on the start menu so i have:
accessories
applications --> nero (where i moved it to)
games
nerono matter how many times i move it or delete it, the shortcuts get recreated
i've checked out the FAQs on nero's website but no mention is made of such a problem and they have no forum of their own.
Thanks for your suggestions

Unless, as Krystyna says, there is some option within Nero that specifies shortcut locations I find it difficult to think of a way forward.
Out of curiosity I shifted my Start/Programs etnry into Accessories and it stayed put fine (even after using Nero both before and after reboot). There are many variants of Nero as I'm sure you know, so it's hard to compare properly. I've never ever had any problem moving Start Menu shortcuts in W98SE.
It could be that there is some registry entry somewhere but I without a machine in front of me with symptoms like yours it would be hard to advise further.
Clutching at straws, move them then immediately reboot (before using Nero programs). See if that helps.

set the properties on the nero directory in the start menu to 'hidden'. That will prevent it displaying in the start menu.
