My cpqshell.exe shell for compaq windows is corrupted and i need a replacement. I cannot find my Quickrestore disk. Only need one file, not my entire hard drive formatted. Please, email with attached file. Thanks.

If I remember correctly, that is a huge file,
15Mb or so.
Hope you find the cd or someone who has one you can borrow.

Guess I have a mem leak, & was confusing it with phone center .exe or someething like that.
Anyway, do you know the size & version #, my
cuz has a 4122 cpq, they may be the same!

I'm at work and can't check the exact size and version #, but according to the compaq website it seems that all of the 4100s have the same base files. I think the 4122 version would probably work.

I downloaded the Windows2000 program about 6-7 weeks ago, and I love it, I have Road Runner('The Fat Pipe'), and I'm pushing data with a Compaq Presario 5690 (500 Pentium III, 128 ram)... And everything was sweet until I had to use my Office 2000 - It asked me if I wanted to install (And the Office2000), had already been installed. So i thought, "Oh, it's only opening!"... Then it asked for the CD, so I put it in, then it says I need 'data1.msi'. So, what do I do?Problem #2: I understand my drivers for my Hew.Pack. 4200c Scanner, and the Compaq factory installed Ring Central Fax program, are both not available? I know both items do not work & I desperately need them. Can you direct me to the right place please?

Larry,
I'm not a Compaq guru, by any means, but here's what I found.
As far as your first problem goes, I have a friend here with office 2000 and I had him search his machine and he could not find a file called data1.msi. You could try microsoft's website I guess.
As far as your second problem goes...
All this info was found on the www.compaq.com website. They have FAQ and a forum you can join.1) You could always re-install the entire Central Fax program to get the driver.
Here is a link on How to re-install the Central fax program.
http://web14.compaq.com/falco/detail.asp?FAQnum=FAQ30202) The driver for Central Fax should be on your Quick Restore CD If you don't have one this link tells you how to get one.

3) For you Hewlit Packard you can go to their website. Around the middle of the left hand side of the page you will see a picture that says drivers. It will then lead you through some questions on the specific scanner you have. I tried to look it up but "4200" wasn't enough information.http://www.hp.com/
I hope this helps.

Just received the cpqshell.exe
76.5k 78,336bytes version: 1,0,0,1
copyright 1996
(scanned with norton av 5.01.03c)
Do you want me to send it?

I received the file from someone else and discovered that my computer still booted with errors. I tracked it down to another executable that I believe is called from cpqshell.exe. It is the llhb.exe I received this file from the same person and my problem seems to be solved. Thank you.
