I bought an old Compaq Presario running Windows 98 for my son's first computer. I have U-verse service, and the "gateway" is in my home office. I'm trying to connect the old Compaq to the internet the best way. My son's room is only about 20 feet away. Any advice?

Run an Ethernet cable from the gateway (assuming you have multiple Ethernet ports and router service) to your son's computer. I believe the Presario has a built-in Ethernet adapter, doesn't it?
