Because of some problems I have with my computer, I need newer versions of WININET.DLL and CABINET.DLL (I have those that come with IE 4.01 SP1). Please, someone with IE5 installed post the file sizes and version numbers (under "Properties"/ "Version" tab) for these two, they can be found in WINDOWS\SYSTEM\. I want to avoid downloading IE5, because it may not be helpfull for me.

Please specify the versions of these files. I am not sure at all that IE5 comes with the versions I need, but I have some idea on what version to search for. Unfortunately, for the moment I don't have the paper on which I have written these. My current versions are 1.00.601.4 for CABINET.DLL and 4.72.3110.0 for WININET.DLL. Thanks, SaGS.

I get this message when trying to install Norton Antivirus. I've decided to install this because a suspect that I have a virus. My computer would restart by itself, freezes during any installs, do not shut down(i have to pull the plug if I want to shut it down most of the time) at first it was infrequent now it's an everyday type of thing.....and now this. For anyone who cares:
The missing wbhook.dll file is from updating McAfee VirusScan over a previous version. The installer assumes that the wbhook.dll file (included in WebScanX) is already installed when doing a TYPICAL install. To correct this, re-install the updated version and select "CUSTOM" install. Make sure the WEBSCANX box is checked. This will ensure that the file is installed. Restart, and PRESTO, the error message is GONE!

to update oleaut32.dll reboot windows in DOS mode and copy the newer version to the \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.You can do this only in proper DOS mode, not from the DOS prompt while running windows....

I have recently installed MS Office 2000 (upgraded from MS Office 97)and also uninstalled some programs to get some space in my hard disk. After restarting one message asks the wbhook.dll file.

I am a senior at Bowler High School. I am trying to do a slide show for my Senior Banquet. I keep going in this loop. I f one thing isn't working is another. Know my problem is a missing DLLfile.DMIAP132.Dll If you can please help me out I would appriciate it. Amanda

Keep getting a window popping up asking me to update "oleaut32dll". Will you help?
Am trying to find answers to a friends lap-top problems. He has removed the DMIAP132.DLL somehow and I am now getting the error message. i was trying to remedy a problem i was having with my computer, but now upon startup it says i need a newer verion of oleaut32 Dll. I was hoping you could send me the newer version of the oleaut 32DL file. I'm using a speedstar A50 video card. Please help me solve this problem
