I'm operating under Windows Millenium2000 and my ISP is AOL 7.0. I need an upgrade for the Ambient CLM Data Voice Modem/Cirrus CLM modem because I keep getting disconnected from AOL. This happened alot with the older version of AOL (6.0), also. My modem is set up for 56k/v.90 but only comes in between 28000 to 31000kbp. I need help! Thanks in advance.

Please tell which clm modem it is (device driver). If it is a cl-m5650, you do have to flash it to 56k. I've just done it and the modem is connecting at 48000bps always. I also manually set the jumpers--instead of plug and play-- because the drivers kept reinstalling and/or the modem wouldn't work properly on the first couple of start-ups.

Disconnects and slow connect speeds? Sounds more like a problem with AOL than with your modem.

While trying to install AOL 7.0 I found that I needed an upgrade on the computer's driver. Question this is my Sis's computer, she has windows 98, 56k winfax modem,,what driver from microsoft does she need to run the 7.0 AOL. Second question: and is a driver upgrade small enough to be put on a floppy
