I'm willing to bet that you have it. Have you done a find on your system. If you have any emergency boot floppies, it's on them also. You probably have a different problem causing that message.

no, i searched my hard drive many times, checked in config.sys, autobat.sys, and msdos.sys; can't find it. if you could just email it to me please.

Well for a start George, the file is called HIMEM.SYS Try another search with the correct spelling first, and if not repost. What version of Win 95 do you have eg A or B Regards...Krystyna
