I have a laptop (Dell Inspiron 5000) with TV-Out port. I connect the patch cable to my TV and can see the desktop fine, when I try to run a video from windows media player 9, I see the player fine on the TV and on the laptop, but I can only see the video on the laptop, the media player shows the picture for 1 second then goes black on the TV. I still see the player, just nothing playing inside it. I made a video presentation for my kids grandparents and want to put it on videotape but cant do it...HELP..CHristmas is coming!

Hello Meltdown, If you have a video TV-out plug in your laptop, that's mean you have an internal video-acquisition card inside to control all your video programs. Problem is maybe that drivers used by this card are not reconised by the video standart used today as for exemple by Media player 9, or that Media player 9 is not compatible with your system. You have to watch both problem to figure about it, at least to bring your laptop to your technician favorite computer dealer to ask about this problem. I am sure problem occur from one of the two situations I mentioned.... Remember as well, it can be a low RAM memory problem too, videos are consuming a lot of memory to work......

Had the same problem. Make the TV the primary Monitor and that should solve your problem.
