My web page has been hijacked by Search 2004.n/hp.htm/id=293 and my default under tools sais super-spider.com/greg/hp.php. I have tried CWshredder, pestpatrol, ad-aware, spybot, trojan remover, spyhunter and have had little luck. I noticed CWS Bootconf and CWS AddClass are embedded into my system but I cannot root them out. I have included a hijackthis for review. I want to thank whomever responds to this. Verv

Hi Verv, hello everyone,

This one looks very suspicious. It appears to be random letters and numbers. Nothing found in any database or on Google. I would get rid of it.

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [b93vo1z3gv] C:\WINDOWS\3JZ03FPFJY.exe

This one is Spyware, get rid of it also.

O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} (RdxIE Class) - http://207.188.7.150/28a99411daa2191ccc00
/netzip/RdxIE601.cab

This one here is the one that is locking your homepage.

O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present

Check Spybot and ensure the option "Lock homepage from changes" is not enabled. If it is not enabled within the Spybot Options then remove it using Hijackthis.

Everything else looks good in your log.

Best Regards,
Mesich

Hi Verv, Life, hello everyone,

One more thing, after removing the above entries with Hijackthis restart the computer.

Go to C:\Windows and rename 3JZ03FPFJY.exe to 3JZ03FPFJY.old. If after a couple of days you don't have any problems, delete it completely.

Best Regards,
Mesich

Mesich,
I'm almost there, thank you, so far I appreciate every bit of help you have given, and thanks for taking the time. I'm fairly new at this so forgive me if I don't catch on to what you are saying right away.

You said earlier that this one here is the one that is locking your homepage.

O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present

Should I delete this using Hijackthis???

Also when you said to check Spybot and ensure the option "Lock homepage from changes" is not enabled. If it is not enabled within the Spybot Options then remove it using Hijackthis. I did not see any "Lock homepage from change" in Spybot, please advise.

Can I remove the material that I don't use anymore such as the Earthlink files by using Hijackthis, you will see what I'm talking about in the log below.

I will attach another Hijackthis log for your review. Thanks again!!! VERV

Hello Mesich,

I don't believe I have that updated version of spybot Search and Destroy. However, I did remove what you said. Here is a Hijack this log for review. I think everything is good to go. Except for my soundcard driver. Can't seem to get it to work right yet. Any ideas, please respond. No worries though I can handle that through other sources. Thanks again for your patients and guidance. Most appreciated.

Very respectfully, VERV

Hi Vern, hello everyone,

Your log is now clean.

I missed your earlier question on Earthlink.

Yes, you can safely remove those items.

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://start.earthlink.net

O2 - BHO: EarthLink Popup Blocker - {4B5F2E08-6F39-479a-B547-B2026E4C7EDF} - C:\Program Files\EarthLink TotalAccess\PnEL.dll (file missing)

O3 - Toolbar: Pop-Up Blocker - {D7F30B62-8269-41AF-9539-B2697FA7D77E} - C:\Program Files\EarthLink TotalAccess\PnEL.dll (file missing)

There are also several programs that are running in the background that you could disable as it is not necessary that they always run.

Go to msconfig and startup to disable them.

To find out if they are necessary or not here
is a link which you should find them along with the recommendations.

As far as the sound card issue I would start a new post on that. You would get much better response.

Best Regards,
Mesich

Hi Verv, hello everyone,

You are very welcome.

One more link before I am out in the snow trying to get the hood open on my car to hunt a
loose wire. :-)

If you don't find the program listed in msconfig startup at the above link here is another good one I use.

Best Regards and Wishes,
Mesich
