Newgrl, you are 100% correct in your knowledge of the PCTEL/HSP56K modem. They are one in the same and in performance they are worse than your worst LT WIN nightmare!! My opinion is do away with the HSP and get a real modem. I just replace an HSP56k(PCT303l) with an LT WIN. HSP best performance I could get was 46,666, and with the LT WIN I got 50,666, so I have the HSP packed away in a drawer somewhere.
