can any body please tell the IBM people that they're one of the biggest IT business in the world but cannot have a complete database of their drivers, i reckon their they got the worst technical support so far.....please anybody help

uuhhh... Me, too... Sort of: you see, I actually have the CD that came with the card, but I can't seem to get a clean, functional install... Tried several different systems. With two of these same modem/soundcard thingys... I'll cheerfully send a copy of the install CD to anyone that can walk me through this loathesome process. I'm do desktop support as a dayjob, so I can give a pretty detailed account of my efforts to install this beast somehow. E-mail me at derek@Brinson.Net if anyone wants to work it out.
If anyone

Need the driver for configuration of a target of sound.. ibm38mdsp2780
thanks.. You can help you

These drivers work!!!!
http://www.askey.com/drivers.html
Look for:Combo Card
S1428VH-M(IBM MWAVE)
Down load the 3 .exe'sThen from DOS run the .exe's and it will expand the files to 3 diskettes.
Then on disk 1 READ the Readme.txt- especially:
1.1 Installing Mwave for WindowsNo follow instructions = No Working Modem! Got IT!
Enjoy!
TrevorAnd PS: When is says switch off the PC, Switch it OFF, not Ctrl+alt+del.
Switch it off, and then switch back on again at the power button.

i may be able to help you all please follow this link and email me if you are successful
http://www.miro.de/ag-e/communi/index.htm

All above links won't work unless you hav e an aptiva system ...all others it just won't work ...i have tried them all on diffrent operating systems without luck ...it just seems a painfull experience....you much better off trashing the thing and buy yourself new sound card and modem
and if any one sees this from the mwave team
your customer supports sucks

I have a MDSP2780 mwave soundcard/33.6 fax/voice modem. I am currently running Windows 98 2nd Ed.
The drivers in Win 98 are found under Add new hardware (Select from list)IBM digital signal processers then IBM OEM Mwave DSP adapter. Then I followed the normal setup. (Must shutdown to set PALS. On reboot it autoselected all but the modem which was ID'd as an unknown device. I again used (Select from list) Modem the MFG IBM then Mwave 33.6 Data Fax Modem.
It must work I'm here.
For the Windows 95 drivers they are found in ? Other Devices then MFG IBM then IBM OEM Mwave DSP adapter. Don't know about the bootup and autosensing since I'm using Win 98.
Hope this helps someone.

Is there one out there that has a working mwave in windows on a non-IBM system. I think it's pretty strange that the card won't work in another computer.
I've tried with a couple of drivers on a couple of different systems, all non working ofcourse. Would appreciate any help i can get.

The only thing I have been able to find is the combo card drivers for the 33.6 modem. My machine came with a 28.8(IBM38MDSP2780). I've long since upgraded my Aptiva 2176-C73 machine. The only thing I haven't upgraded in this box is the motherboard. I'm now running Win 98, but this driver works for me despite IBM's disclaimer that it was designed for the Win 95 operating system. This is the link to the driver download page @ IBM: http://www.pc.ibm.com/qtechinfo/PMYS-3TZGJP.html?lang=en_US&page=brand&brand=IBM+Aptiva&family=&doctype=Downloadable+files&subtype=Audio

Dear all,
I've been looking for the driver too for month and been trying a lot of downloaded program, but finally I found the perfect setup program for my system. You can try down load this file (mwave96audio_modem.zip) from:
ftp://ftp.driverguide.com/uploads7/9904/mwave96audio_modem.zipIt really work, don't forget to read the readme file first, then follow all the instruction (do not miss any...)good luck.

Julien's response # 72 worked good for me on an Aptiva 2176-c66
His Response:
Ok first thing

Take the Mwave card out and place the two jumpers to match the I/O adress that windows gave you ( the two jumpers a the rear right corner of the mwave card ). place it back AND enjoy PEACE !!!!!I was able to do it without taking the card out or messing with the jumpers.
