Hi. I have been trying to install a DOS game Darksun but the PC keeps telling me it needs more conventional memory, I have tried many versions of autoexec.bat and of config.sys to no avail. Please help me. Thanks.

It is best to create a DOS boot for games than changing your systems configuration. Bootme is a utility for gaming in DOS created by Interplay.

I agree with steve, but I have the simple way of booting any game from windows.
Right click on the program name and click properities. click the tab program. Click advanced. Check ms-dos mode. highlight the circle specify a new ms-dos configuration. The two boxes below are the places to fool around to get your game to work. I suggust to disable ems and just run on extended memory, unless you game calls for it. You might want to get more convestional memery available by sending buffers, files, and anyof those to upper memery. To do that say FILESHiGH and BUFFERSHIGH. You should put auto on your emm686.exe line. to get configuration options on emm386.exe and himem.sys and others check out config.txt in your windows directory.
