NDIS initializing-win prot error

new P4 5.53 on P4PE board, new HD with Win 98 just installed, PROBLEM: recieve a windows protection error while initializing NDIS while trying to boot into windows.. it will go into safe mode.. and DOS mode.. is there a fix for this..? help please..

If you have onboard LAN, try disabling it in the bios.
If you have a network card installed, go into safe mode and then remove all your network settings (or at least any that refer to NDIS) in the Network panel.
Reboot into regular Windows (we hope) and then reload your network drivers for the onboard lan.
Or after rebooting , shut down again and enable your onboard lan in the bios once again.
Then when you're in reg Windows reload the driver for the onbaord lan from your mobo cd.

okay... tried all that.. no luck..
i read at an intel sight that this error may occur in systems using windows 98 and processors above 2.1 ghz..
has anyone else had this problem.. I'm using straight Win 98..

okay.. i've got it fixed.. bypassed the ndis files on boot.. then loaded upgrade to XP.. works fine now..
