My Zip Drive (Iomega 100) is acting like a SCSI in the diagnostics and it doesnt work becuase of this! What should i do? I've tried: uninstalling ALL the software for it, disconnecting the drive starting windows then restarting windows with the drive in again, but nothing seems to work! Also note, that the zip drive has been replaced once becuase we thought the last one was broken! I'm running Win98, and I dont know what to do, so if ANYONE can help me, PLEASE DO SO!

Did you try removing the device from systems diagnostics and rebooting? Try booting up step by step and watch what drivers are being loaded. Like ergmeister said, do you have a SCSI controller? if so then unless it is just in your system doing nothing, the recognition of the zip as a SCSI device should cause a conflict somewhere else.

Iomega uses ASPI drivers (ASPI is Adaptec's
advanced scsi programming interface) of their
own. It is my understanding that their ASPI
monitor and drivers do not coexist gracefully with regular scsi. The zip drive is really a scsi device with a parallel port capability that uses aspi. If you have no host adapter and actual scsi bus on your system, the aspi messages may indicate a failure of the zip drive or the parallel port.
