ive had mylap top for about 10 months or so. for the past month i have only been able to turn it on when it is plugged into the wall, even when the battery is full. once i turn it on and i remove the power cable, it will work fine on the battery until it is dead. whats going on?
eh eh eh

"it will work fine on the battery until it is dead"
Yes, thats how it works. What exactly are you expecting it to do?

Hey,the Ever-Ready Energizer Battery is only in that rabbit.Just Joking. Is your question, " After the battery is dead and I plug the power supply back in why can't I use the Laptop while battery is recharging?"

I don't know the answer to this one but I think it is fairly clear what the poster is saying.
My version:
"I cannot power on the laptop even if the battery is fully charged, unless I briefly plug it into the mains first".If it only runs a short while after this unusual procedure then I would have thought it was battery trouble. If it continues to run for a good long time afterwards then it seems rather odd to me, but I'm no laptop whizz.
Please correct me if I misinterpreted the post.

If you have only had it 10 months isn't your warranty still in effect?I overlooked that in your post during my first read.

My guess is that there is a sensor which will allow it to start only if the voltage is up to snuff.
As per Rincon, is it not in warranty?
If at first you don't succeed, you're about average.M2

Hi, noeler.
Here is one thing to try.
You may have bent some pins/tabs for the battery within the laptop. This could have happened if the battery was pushed in too fast and at an angle.
Remove the battery and take a flashlight and make sure that the tabs inside the laptop are all perpendicular. If not, carefully straighten with a non conductive probe. They actually bend quite easily.
Replace the battery slowly and then remove. Check to see if they are properly aligned.HTH..................ck
