my internet doesnt work

every time i try to connect my internet doesnt connect. it dials and everyhting then it says cannot connect. and internet explorer doesnt work either it says not enough memory to run the program plz help

You forget to list hardware, deatil environment. But offhand, check the free space on your hard drive and the size of your swap file (right click my computer/properties/performance/virtual memory.) If either is small--say 250 megs or less -- you need to free up some room.

1 meg is far from enough. You need to free up 100 megs minimum or add a second hard drive.
