Jeesh! Anybody out there had AOHell and Netscrape installed at the same time on one pc and Netscape only on the other, or have been disallowed from changing your Netscrape password on either pc?

Been wrong before and maybe here again, but read this and see for yourself if I can be this wrong about so many issues.

Installed Netscrape basic/Mozilla 4. Now Netscrape (NS') refuses to give me any install instructions either before or even after doing the deed, and basically unless I pay them for the info to rid the install's password bug, I must live with some NS' yea-who giving me one of his/her choosing!

Here's what I think NS is purposely doing to it's customers in order to 'collect' setup support fees.

First off whether or not the user has one or more pc's, NS' won't tell it's installing customers that it seems that until one rids the IE connection setting of the (current?) ISP's name which is attached to NS's (ie; nsSCREENNAME@netscrape.aohell.com), that it seems to disallow the installer the ability to go past the server and on-line until the installer figures out he/we need to delete the 'aohell' portion of the IE connection's setting's window.

Only then could I get past that last hurdle in choosing my security question and entering an answer to it, so that then allows me/us to go past the server and go on-line with NS.

That "followed" a futile attempt at even using my e-mailed NS password (that they sent me before the install) which resulted in me having to phone in, ask them to give me one that would even work to get me to the ****** server!

After hurdling these 'intentional(?)' NS barriers (no doubt set there to force installers to eventually resign to paying for setup help rahther than spend days waiting for e-mail help that never comes), here's what they seem to have now done to me.

While only one of my two pc's still has AOHell and both have NS' installed, I see on the AOHell-less pc that my IE's connection folder lists (by default) "two" Netscrape(s). They are Netscrape and Netscrape Online. Maybe required, I suspect but NS denies me a-n-y details unless paying them for support.

What gives here, is this right? I ask this as when I try to change my NS' password, I am prompted that I cannot change my password as I don't have the kind of account that allows it, and phoning in to NS tech support, they 'say' theyhave no idea what that prompt means or what type of account I need to change my password by myself!

Tried changing my IE's conn. folder's listed 'NS Online' (marked "default"), to the "default" for the other Netscape listed in the window, but still can't change my NS password!

It is disconcerting that some yea-who in India who gave me my password on the telephone and I am to trust the guy with it, and am exasperated w/NS's failure to either tell me why I can't change my P'Word w/o some yea-who knowing it (verses me doing it electronically with a little bit more assurance my stuff isn't accessed by yea-who's).

If this's not simply some wacky Netscrape thing for basic users, then I'm thinking it's related to my IE's properties setup as to how NS is listed in it's Connections folder.

Why thinking my IE settings are possibly to blame? It's that for one thing, my other pc still uses AOHell, plus NS, but there's no double Netscrape listing in that pc's IE Conn's window, only the one Netscrape "Online" and of course the one 'AOHell', but only this pc's IE prop's conn's settings button shows the "Netscrape Online Settings" with a password of "******" in the lower dialog box (which's the same number of characters as my yea-who's given password), while the other pc lists a blank password dialog box. Arrrg, grrrr, and hmmmm.

Is it possible that NS'/Server recognizes a conflict in IE stored passwords (ie; one lists a P'Word and the other doesn't) and see's my 2nd pc as a potential impersonator, so NS' is waiting for me to pay before they tell me I either must uninstall AOHell form both pc's before allowing me to use both pc's with one password?

The blank password box on the pc w/o AOHell is the main reason I think this's a NS/server thing, and maybe after I uninstall AOHell, then such enables NS to plug into my IE conn window with the second Netscrape connection listing. But I'm only guessing as you can tell, and besdies, I may need AOHell to get me another ISP, one that is the least bit helpful.

Anyway need some help here, as I refuse to pay a dime to an ISP who I feel is all but extorting support money from me when they disallow me/us not so much as a readme.txt in the install folder, not so much as even definitive install instruction in the welcome e-mail, nor do they even allow me/us to search NS for anything more than the 4 or 5 FAQ's they ill-afford searchers towards seeking answers to common issues, plus even NS's help on the AOL/Netscape toolbar simply ends up showing IE browser help and "not" any NS setup help!

There has to be a law against this. Likely is but who sues over $10 nd $20 these days. Only wealthy people with nothing else to do I must suspect, and besides they likely would smartly avoid any at the very the least, 'uncooperative' ISP's such as this to begin with.

Grrrr.
