It was a "wipe clean" and reload it all thing.I removed old partition, made a new one and activated it(believe me I dont know what the heck I did I got luck to get this thing running again)Everything operates just fine but in "my computer" it shows that I've only got 2 gigs of hdd instead of the 6gigs I had before

What happened was you formatted the drive with a FAT16 partition which is perfectly normal. But because of limitations of FAT16 you cat only get 2 gig partitions. Get a program called Partition Magic from Symantec and you can change the partition to FAT32 and resize the partition to the full 6 gigs.

G'day John, well you must have missed my response to your previous Post suggesting using Fdisk was not needed, oh well. What you probally did not do was that when you partitioned with 98 boot disk you should have seen a screen asking 'do you wish to enable large disk support y/n... and you should have put a 'Y' [at bottom of screen], which would give you one full 6gb partition. Now you have a 2gb and you probally did not continue with Fdisk after the 1st reboot and finish the job by not selecting to make an extended and logical partition and kept going until your entire drive was partitioned, which would have given you at least 3 drives all of which have to be formatted. I suggest you put in Fdisk agian and select the #4 option to view your partition table and see how many drives you now have and if you only have C: you will have to start again and lose all your setup, this won't damage anything but it's a hassle. My last response was to check the HOW TO [Advanced]section at this site about Partitioning and Fomatting. Once you are satisfied when you finally figure it out there should be no need to use Fdisk again even if your system gets messy, just a format will do.
I hope I don't sound too techo and I hope you sort it.
