My default for IE is Google, however, lately whenever I bring it up this "My Fast Search" garbage comes up. So I reset my homepage for Explorer back to Google, but for whatever reason it doesn't stay. I tried Ad-aware, and I ms-config'd to check for startup weirdness, but nothing seems different. I also ran my virus scan (Panda), which admittedly might need to be updated, but still...nothing. Anyone ever heard of fastsearch.cc? (that's the url that comes up automatically). This is very annoying.

It may be that your browser has been hijacked. Check your DNS configuration in your TCP/IP properties and check to see that DNS is disabled. the trojan Qhost virus will enable your DNS and set a domain name of the authors' choosing. This bug is introduced through a popup ad. It also leaves behind an empty folder "bdtemp\temp".

You guys are awesome! Although kypher.com came up dead, the Fastsearch.removal link did the trick. It was indeed an offshoot of coolsearch. What I don't really get is why someone created the dumb thing...but hey, I guess some people don't have lives.
I also checked the TCP/IP properties and it was disabled already - but thanks for the tip so I know now to check if something like this happens again.

Thanks you guys!
