Hi everybody,
My computer: Pentium III 733Mhz 256M
OS: W95/W2K
Connector IDE1 : HD(master) + CDROM(slave)
Connector IDE2 : CDRW(slave or master)

The letter (F:) has been assigned for the CDRW but it don't work fine! I have the message from system: "F:\ is not accessible. Incorrect function."

Could you explain me the problem? Thank you very much.

Your CDR can't be "slave or master" -- it's got to have the jumper set one way or the 'tother. (If it is the only device on IDE2, it had better be "master".)

What does it show for the device in Device Manager?

Just a thought. When I installed my new cd burner under win95 it showed up fine in control panel and explorer(firmware) but it wouldn't operate normally (open files or music). I had to install Win98 before it would work properly. It seems the new devices require newer operating systems.

Have you had the computer for awhile or is it new? If the burner has worked before, and this problem just arose, it might be a loose IDE cable in the back of the burner or you may need to re-flash the eeprom software. If it is a new computer, then check the master slave settings and try to access the burner through DOS.
