I HAVE A CREATIVE 32X CD ROM AND FOR SOME REASON, IT STOPPED PLAYING MUSIC CD'S. WHEN I PUT IN A READER RABBIT OR WIN 98 OS FULL VERSION CD, IT PLAYS NORMALLY. I HAVE NO CONFLICTS IN DISK MANAGER OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT, IT JUST WON'T PLAY MUSIC CD'S. MY SOFTWARE IS CREATIVE AWE32. I HAVE REAL PLAYER AND REAL PLAYER G2. HOPEFULLY, IT'S A QUICK FIX FOR ONE OF YOU GUYS. THANX.

Please check in Tweak-U-I (if you have it ) that "play music CD's automaticaly" is checked. Tweak-u-i usualy resides in control panel, and when you open up "Tweak", you need to click on the "paranoia" tab.Somewhere towards the bottom of this panel you will find a couple of check boxes, "play data CD's automaticaly" and play music CD's automaticaly". Check the latter option off and you SHOULD have no more trouble. If you haven't got Tweak-u-i yet, (it's a free applet from MS) click your start button, navigate up to "programs" and further up the menu to "accessories". Then hover over "entertainment" and you should see "CD player". Wang in a music CD, click on the "play" button, and if this works it is not a serious problem. Try this out and if you have no luck, come back to this page and tell me more. Good luck!!!

Patricia,
Also need to check your CD sound cable. It's a thin cable that runs from back of
cd drive to sound card. Make sure it is plugged in properly on both ends, and doesn't have any broken wires. Al
