Multiple monitors?!

ok im takin a computer class at school, im usin a compaq of some type. (dont know exactly) when i put in a second video card and try to set up both monitors it says that my drivers will not support multiple monitors. what is a solution for this? is there just some drivers that i can download and install so that i can use multiple video cards? or is it a problem cause from something else? thanks a lot for your help

you need to get a video card that can support multiple monitors.. most now-a-day do.. they will have one VGA output, one DVI output and one S-video output, just look on the box or the web site information.

This can be a pain in the #@^#@(*$& with some computers and some video cards. I got this to work ""sometimes"" on my piece of ilk "PC chips" motherboard I'm "lucky" enough to own. It has built in video, and a second card would sometimes try and become the master, sometimes not.
You need to do a search on this, and look to see (somewhere) what Microshaft lists as "approved hardware." Not all video cards are approved.
Frankly, on a comcrap, I don't have much hope.
