msvbvm50.dll error....program not executing

Specs: Windows 7, 512mb
I have installed a program few days back and now not able to run it b'cas of some "msvbvm50.dll" can I rectify this erroneous dll...any suggestions?

I don't know about that site.

The response above is the first one for that user.

Obviously the installation went bad. Did you install from a disk or from a download?

You could perform a system restore back to just before you installed that program.

Have you tried uninstalling the program, rebooting and re-installing it again? If it was downloaded get a new copy before re-installing. If it was on a CD or DVD try washing the disk gently in soapy water then dry thoroughly.

So is it windows 7 or windows vista or windows 98? I suppose since you're in the windows 9x forum and you're getting an msvbvm50.dll error it's 98.

You may need to update visual basic. I found this:

Download and run that file. It extracts to vbrun60sp6.exe. Run that and it'll install the files.

(Again, all this assumes you're running 98 and not 7)

Install msvb50 available here:

60 won't help if it's calling out for 50, 40 or 30, seems like it ought to but that's not how it was written to work.
