I'm trying to find a copy of MSNP32.DLL which corrects the "password too short" error message when I change my NT network password. MS Technet says a version 4.00.951 dated 8/20/96 is available, also 4.00.953 dated 7/31/97 both 67,584 bytes. I can't find them anywhere. Any ideas?

each time i turn on my computer it reads "missing windows registry or system.ini file,
msnp32.dll........ please advise how to correct problem

I get an error message every time I start windows telling me it cant find the "msnp32.dll" file. Can I download a copy of the file, and if I can where do I put it??
Thank you for your support.

You can get msnp32.dll here:
http://marketwizz.net/windows95/win95b/index.htmlPut the file in the windows\system directory. But, that probably won't fix your problem. You will need to remove the Dial Up Networking component from Windows Setup, reboot your system, and then add the Dial Up Networking component back using Windows Setup, follow that with one more reboot and you'll be set.
To remove the Dial Up Networking component, go into Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel and click on the Windows Setup tab. Select Communications, click on Details and clear the check mark in Dial Up Networking. Click OK and restart Windows. Go back into Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel and click on the Windows Setup tab again. Select Communications, click on Details and add the check mark in Dial Up Networking. Click OK and restart Windows.
Email me directly if you need more help.
:)

Both these download location for MSNP32.DLL is still version 4.00.950.
What I believe we need is MSNP32.DLL version 4.00.951, I really don't think this file exists. Good old Macrosoft.
CAN ANYONE PLEASE GIVE US THIS VERSION????

very easy steps to correct the error and the messages posted while starting windows:
1)Double Click on MyComputer icon from the disktop
2)Double Click on Control Panel
3)Double Click on Network
4)Click on Microsoft Network (where it says "the following network components are installed")to highlight it
5)Click on REMOVE
a message is going to tell you that your network is not complete and it will ask you if u want to continue anyways.....Click "OK" to continue removing the component.
it will ask you to restart click ok
after you reboot you will not see the message.

You can correct the dfs.vxd and vnetsup.vxd by removing and reinstalling the Client for Microsoft Networks in your network control panel. To do this go to Start -> Settings ->
control panel. Double click on the Network icon. Click Client for Microsoft Networks and then click on the remove button. Hit OK to reboot. After reboot, return to the network control panel. Click Add -> Client->
Client for Microsoft Networks. Hit OK and reboot. TA-DA! Problem fixed. If for some reason this doesn't work, you could always go and edit the registry...But we won't get into that here!

come on ya ... would you to mail me the download of msnp32.dll cause I f--- that s---, I don't know why ... I play whit my computer as I break all of that ... please my friend !!!

I had the same problem, and:
1. Reinstalled Windows 98 SE
2. Used "help" in Windows and did a problemresearch. I didnīt had enhough memory!
3. I was told to not start the computer when system.ini was running. This solved my problem!

Simple Fix.
Go to Start run. In the run box type sfc and hit ok. Then you get extract one file off your windows 98 CD. Type your file you need(dfs.vxd) then hit ok. It will ask you where to get it from and where to put it. Get it from your windows 98 CD and put it in windows/system. Do this intil all your missing files are fixed.Your welcome.
